Important

In application of Article 13.1 of the EU Council Directive 2006/112/CE on the common system of the value added tax, all orders for goods and services provided by the WCO are invoiced exclusive of VAT since the WCO is regarded as non-taxable person in respect to the activities or transactions in which it engages as public authority within its scope of activity defined in the Convention of 15 December 1950 establishing a Customs Co-operation Council, even where it collects dues, fees, contributions or payments in connection with those activities or transactions.

CO Interconnectivity Module 3: Dataset for Electronic CO

€20,00

Description

As Customs administrations advance the digitalization of the Certificate of Origin (CO), strengthening operational and organizational capacities has become essential for improving cross-border trade efficiency. One of the practices observed globally in the digitalization of the CO is supporting system interconnectivity, which enables automated data exchange between exporting authorities and importing Customs administrations under Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

During this 20-minute module, you will discover what information from the Certificates of Origin can be shared digitally through a harmonised dataset, and how and when information from the CO is transmitted. You will see why standardising data formats is essential for smooth interconnectivity and how the international standard (e.g. WCO Data Model) provides a common language for this exchange.

Please note that all scenarios, personas and examples are fictional. Nonetheless, they reflect real challenges and opportunities, and will help you understand the dataset for electronic COs.

The development of this course was made possible through the financial support of the Customs Cooperation Fund of Korea (CCF/Korea).
