Certificate of Origin Interconnectivity

€125,00

Description

As Customs administrations advance the digitalization of the Certificate of Origin (CO), strengthening operational and organizational capacities has become essential for improving cross-border trade efficiency. One of the practices observed globally in the digitalization of the CO is supporting system interconnectivity, which enables automated data exchange between exporting authorities and importing Customs administrations under Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

This five-module programme delivers key elements for establishing Certificate of Origin interconnectivity between partner countries. The module explains how data exchange operates within an interconnectivity system in the context of international trade. It presents the dataset to be exchanged and highlights the importance of standardization to ensure harmonized communication between systems.  It also explains the necessary legal framework and key compliance considerations, as well as the technological requirements and specifications that enable secure, efficient, and practical information exchange.

The course is designed to assist policy-level decision-makers in understanding the Certificate of origin interconnectivity environment and its implications for cross-border data exchange. It also highlights the key elements required for the effective implementation of certificate of origin interconnectivity, thereby strengthening the capacity of those responsible for its implementation. By the end of the module, officials will have a clear understanding of the key legal, technical, and operational elements required to establish and manage Certificate of Origin interconnectivity between partner countries. They will be better equipped to support secure and harmonized data exchange, facilitate cross-border trade, and contribute to more efficient and transparent Customs procedures under Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

This course will take approximately 2 hours to complete.

The development of this course was made possible through the financial support of the Customs Cooperation Fund of Korea (CCF/Korea).
